Hatchling babies are very tiny, in addition to being very uncooperative. The most important thing to consider when feeding a baby this young is timing. Parent Love birds feed their young around the clock for the first 7-10 days, and the hand feeder must also do this. Hatchlings are fed every 2 hours round the clock for the first 5 days. The schedule changes after day 5 and I will discuss this later. The items needed for a hatchling are the same as for an older baby but there are a few other that are necessary with a day 1.

b y Doug Bedwell Cage sizes and styles are often as different as the people who make or buy them. There is no consensus on the "right" size cage for breeding lovebirds. The principle that "Larger is Better," probably holds true, but there is enormous disagreement on how large is large enough. As I've mentioned elsewhere, my experience is with indoor aviaries in the American Midwest. Obviously an outdoor aviary can accomodate larger cages, and in most situations the available space will place some limits on cage size and design. I do not colony breed my birds. I set up my caging so that every breeding pair has its own separate cage. There are many advantages to this system. For one, there is no question as the the parentage of chicks that are produced.   Ternak burung yang satu ini kelihatannya mudah, tetapi kenyataannya tidak begitu, tetapi butuh profesionalisme dan manajemen yang lumayan untuk mendapatkan tingkat produktivitas produksi yang tinggi. Mengawali ternak lovebird ini dari coba-coba, awalnya ditawari teman di Solo, tawaran pertama saya hanya tersenyum, karena menurut saya nggak mungkin saya melakukannya. Tawaran kedua saya langsung respon, karena dia cerita kalau anakannya Rp. 1 juta per ekor, saat itu saya langsung pesan 5 pasang indukan yang sudah produk dan bergaransi.
